Textured X-Wing

Star Wars X-Wing – Part 6/7

Sci Fi, Texturing

In these final two parts of the X-Wing tutorials I will show you how to go about UV Unwrapping the model, and exporting the unwrapped net to Photoshop for painting. After it has been hand painted in Photoshop we will then export it as an image back into Blender and utilise this as the texture for our object, wrapping it back up around our model to give it the desired look.

Star Wars X-Wing – Part 5

Modelling, Sci Fi

In part 4 we began adding basic colours to our model. Now we will use Blenders node editor to do some more advanced texturing using the built in features of Blender. We will also use some compositing effects to adjust our final output image. Compositing can be used for tasks such as colour correction and adding other after effects such as blur and starbursts etc.

Star Wars X-Wing – Part 4

Modelling, Sci Fi

In this part of the tutorial series we will add some basic textures to our model using Blender’s built in texturing and colouring features. This will begin to give our model more realistic look and allow us to start blocking out the larger areas of colour so when we come to UV Unwrapping later and painting the model in a paint program we have a good idea what should be where.

Star Wars X-Wing – Part 1

Modelling, Sci Fi

Here’s Part 1 of my Star Wars X-Wing Tutorial. I’m sorry I haven’t done a complete tutorial on the Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer, the project is just too large and detailed to really produce an effective tutorial for. However, by following along with this X-Wing tutorial you will create a really cool model, and it will tach you pretty much all the techniques I used to create the I.S.D. So here’s part 1 where we will cover setting up the reference imagery and beginning to model our basic fuselage shape.

Making an X wing Spacecraft Fighter Jet

Space Craft – “X Wing”

Modelling, Sci Fi

I started out on this project to create a Science Fiction inspired space craft. This is more of a fast jet type fighter spacecraft rather than a larger mothership type. Taking a lot of influence from the Star Wars X wing aircraft this is what I came up with in the space of around 8 hours of modelling. With some proper texturing this model could look really quite cool! For now anyways here’s the basic rendered output with Blender generated materials.
